Understanding and Purpose Of Reclamation - Reclamation is a work or undertaking in the utilization of a useless or aquatic land to be useful land. Places usually used as a place to do reclamation such as beach areas, offshore, lake , swamp or river is so wide.
The purpose of reclamation is to make the area that is not useful to be an area that has benefits. The reclaimed area is usually used for agricultural areas, residential, industrial, shopping/business and tourism areas .
The reclamation work also aims to spur the development of other supporting facilities and infrastructure. In building a port or port terminal located in the waters can be done reclamation work.
Advantages and Disadvantages Reclamation

Advantages Of Reclamation
- Can help a country, city or area to provide land for purposes such as, the arrangement of a coastal area, the development of marine tourism and so forth.
Disadvantages Of Reclamation
- There will be ecosystem changes in the environment such as changes in the pattern of erosion currents on the coast, then such changes may endanger a region or environment because it can lead to flooding
- Will have adverse impact on drainage system and hydrodynamic change which have negative impact to environment and society around it
- Will disrupt the environment around the quarry because of the excavations made by hollowing and the islands that have no occupants
- Some biodiversity will be extinct such as loss of magrove species, extinction of fish species, sea shells etc. due to reclamation project
